The artists face each other in the room, each holding a piece of chalk.

Each takes a turn to say the name of an artist whose name begins with A, taking a step back with every name until they can’t remember any more.

Both then mark the floor with A and return to the middle, and repeat the process with every letter of the alphabet.

They invite the audience onto the score, asking them to spell out three words of their choosing.

As the audience members move from letter to letter, they must vocalise the transition between sounds: “EEEEEEEEEFFFFFFFFFFFSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!”. The further they are from the centre of the room, the louder these vocalisations must be.
